Peppercorn Sea Salted Peanut Brittle: A Sweet and Spicy Holiday Treat

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups peanuts (unsalted)
  • 1 tsp butter
  • Peppercorn Sea Salt for sprinkling

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sugar Mixture: In a saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Add Peanuts: Once the sugar mixture is smooth, add the peanuts and continue to cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (the hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  3. Spread and Sprinkle: Immediately pour the hot mixture onto a greased baking sheet, spreading it evenly. While still warm, sprinkle with Peppercorn Sea Salt to taste.
  4. Cool and Break Into Pieces: Allow the brittle to cool completely, then break it into pieces for serving.
